Meet Jake ADOPTED!

Jake 2

Jake is a very handsome 2-3 year old Catahoula/Lab mix and weighs about 60 pounds. He is very sweet and gentle and wants nothing more than to lean into you for a cuddle. He's great with other dogs and his tail wags faster when he can say hello to one (he gives appeasing licks and approaches gently). He knows sit, walks well on leash, and is house trained. Once he has healed from his neuter surgery, he will get to explore the dog park. The more he settles into his foster home, the more playful he gets with all kinds of toys. He loves tennis balls and fished out the antler from the closet and loves to chew on it. Jake is up to date on his vaccinations.

Note that Jake has just arrived in foster care and is still under assessment. More information will be posted about him when he settles in and we know more about him.

To apply to adopt Jake, please complete the adoption application form. For more information on Jake or any of our other dogs available for adoption, please contact catahoulaontario@gmail.com

Meet Chubby’s puppies ALL ADOPTED!

Andretti Chyn
Chubby (also up for adoption) was found as a stray and was brought to CRO shortly before giving birth to eight puppies on Jan 7th, 2013. Chubby is a lab mix (mostly lab with a touch of shepherd or other in her) and we do not know what the father is. The puppies are expected to be as big as mom (she is 50-60 pounds) when fully grown.
Derby Fluffy
The puppies have been socialized to dogs of all sizes and various people while in their foster home. They are sweet and adventurous, great puppies all around. Mom is a wonderful pup herself, very social and wants nothing more than to be by your side.

Meet Chubby ADOPTED!

chubby 1

Chubby is an adorable 11 month old black lab mix (there may be a bit of Shepherd in her too). This sweetheart arrived in rescue ready to give birth. She had eight healthy babies. She's been an excellent mom, but she is ready to go back to being the baby of the house. Chubby will be available for adoption in mid-February once the puppies have been weaned.

Chubby is a great dog all around - very sweet and affectionate (typical lab!). She wants nothing more than to be by your side and cuddle. She gets along with everyone and while she does watch over her puppies, she allows everyone to touch and handle them and is good with all the dogs in her foster home (big and small). Chubby can be tested with cats, but we don't expect any issues. We also expect that she would like having children in the house, or anyone else, really.

Chubby will be ready for spay surgery in a few months, but can be adopted as a "foster to adopt" until she is spayed. She must be adopted locally (in Ottawa or surrounding area) so that she can be spayed (at CRO's cost) at our vet. Chubby's adorable puppies will also be up for adoption soon.

To apply to adopt Chubby, please complete the adoption application form. For more information on Chubby or any of our other dogs available for adoption, please contact catahoulaontario@gmail.com

Meet Baylee ADOPTED!

Baylee is a very sweet, 9 month old Aussie mix puppy.  She is currently 40lbs and will get a little bigger. She LOVES to cuddle, flopping over for belly rubs, and will try and climb right in your lap (she needs an adopter that will set some boundaries for her). She will paw you to try to get you to keep petting her if you stop. She wants to be near her foster mom all the time.

She has been great with every dog she has met (no aggression at all). If anything its the opposite. She is a bit timid at first but warms up eventually and wants to play.  She plays very well with her small breed foster-brother and is gentle with him and his size. in fact he ofter tires HER out and and she is ready for a lie down while he still wants to play.
Baylee is still very much a puppy, who would love to do training with you.  She is super food motivated and excitable.

She has not tried to take anything off the table or bookshelves or anything. She isn't destructive or overly curious unless there is food involved. She will stick her nose right in your pocket for treats if you let her! On walks she is easily startled by things, skaters, shovellers, cars (even parked ones), so she could use some confidence building and leash training.   She has been good about coming back when given a bit of freedom in the park. She comes back for treats.

If someone is looking for a cuddler and someone to follow them around all day, then Baylee is your girl. She is generally pretty quiet unless startled. Her bark sounds like a hound!

To apply to adopt Baylee, please complete the adoption application form. For more information on Baylee or any of our other dogs available for adoption, please contact catahoulaontario@gmail.com
