Meet Carmella ADOPTED!

CarmellaCarmella's full name is Carmella Hugs because she is such a gentle, kind soul. She loves the company of humans and dogs. She loves to curl up beside a cozy human on the couch, and she doesn't even take up too much space.

Most people guess that she is a Boxer mix, but we are really not sure. She has all the traits of a playful teddy bear when at the dog park, and can also lounge quietly with her family when at home.

Carmella is around 3-5 years old, so all the puppy stuff is done, and the best years are still ahead. A perfect age, really. She’s about 75lbs, and she came to us a little bit chubby, so she can stand to loose a little. Now that she's on quality food and getting regular exercise, she's starting to trim down. We’re not certain how she became overweight, since she's not really food driven.

Carmella is currently peacefully sharing her foster home with two other medium sized dogs and should be able to easily join a family with another dog. She can be a little unsure with new dogs, but she is submissive and respectful. Gentle and encouraging leadership is the name of the game when working with Carmella. She'll sit for you and wait patiently for a cookie, or while you're talking to your neighbours, or scooping the poop near a busy street.

She is a joy to walk on leash. Even her itty-bitty foster mom can walk her with two other dogs without being pulled. Carmella is completely house trained and will notify you of her need to go outside with subtle chatter.

Carmella's foster mom does therapy dog work, and believes Carm would be an excellent candidate. How fun and rewarding would it be to have a therapy dog?

She is not currently living with children or cats, so intros would have to be done to be sure she is a good fit for a home with feline friends and/or little humans. She has met babies when out and about and seemed to really enjoy their presence.

Carmella

A note from Carm's foster mom: "I just got back from the dog beach with the three dogs. Carmella is a sweetheart on the leash; I'm using a martingale collar. Once we got to the park, it was all smiles for sweet Carmella. She loves other dogs and really really loves babies. Carmella sleeps with my teenager son every night and they've built quite a bond."

Carmella is a perfect dog ready for the perfect forever home. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, heartworm tested (negative) and on heartworm preventative.

Meet Bear (again!)

*FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED*

Bear

Bear is a 65lb German Shepherd mix, approximately 4 years old (or younger, based on his demeanor). This boy has personality in spades, a killer smile, and a friendly disposition. He has never met a stranger, because everyone is a friend!

He is intelligent, very playful, loves his walks, and enjoys lots of affection and hugs. Did we mention he loves his walks? ;-) He'll do a happy dance at just the thought of a walk, and he will let you know if you're behind schedule. On top of walks, he really does need an opportunity to RUN every day, either in a fenced yard or park, etc.

Bear is housetrained and he knows basic commands, in French and English. Good boy! He would LOVE to do an obedience class, and would thrive with additional training.

Bear

Bear is very tactile, and uses his paws creatively, including to ensure you know he is there (in case you missed the big nose poke). He just wants to be a part of the family. He'll nuzzle in for affection, give kisses, and happily sleep at your feet, or play with a ball.

He is extremely loyal to his human, and will likely do well off leash once bonding is established.

Bear has been to adoption events where he was polite and social with all new dogs. He is currently sharing his foster home with another female dog and they are doing well. He would likely do better as an only dog or with a submissive dog.

Bear is not currently living with children, and based on his size and jumping when excited, he would do best with older children (eg. teens). Bear needs a home with no cats.

Bear

Bear does bark, and is likely not suited to apartment living. His bark is suitably impressive too! He will pull on leash when he's excited, such as when we sees other dogs or people.

Bear is a happy-go-lucky, loving family companion and protector. He will thrive in a home that provides lots of exercise, training and boundaries, plus lots of love and affection.

Bear is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and up to date on his vaccines. He’s looking for a foster family or an adopter.
