Meet Jacob ADOPTED!

Jacob is being fostered in Bowmanville, Ontario

Jacob

Jacob is an approximately 2 year old Mountain Cur/Catahoula. He lives and gets along very well with his foster siblings (a male and a female Catahoula).

Jacob is a handsome, affectionate dog. He is quite laid back in the house. He enjoys lounging during the day, but loves to go for long walks, trips to the dog park, and loves to wrestle with both dogs and humans alike.

He is very polite on a leash. He is more gentle and submissive than his foster siblings, but also won't let himself get bullied. Jacob is a smart boy, wants to please his humans, and is very food motivated.

Jacob

He is crated during the day when no one is home, but roams free at night and usually chooses to sleep on the couch. He will come to you for attention and once he gets it, he will quite literally melt at your feet.

Jacob has a lovely, kind disposition. He is a great snuggler, often burying his head in Mom’s lap and taking all the rubs he can get. He sleeps for hours after a great morning of play at the park. He is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and an all-around wonderful boy.

Jacob is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative), and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Meet Bonnie ADOPTED!

bonnie

This pretty pup is about 2 years old, weighs approximate 55 pounds, and we believe she is a Labrador Retriever mix, maybe a bit of Pointer too?

Bonnie is a sweet girl and everyone that has met her comments on what a great pup she is! She loves people and likes to cuddle, if you sit on the ground she will curl up between your legs. She is very gentle when she takes a treat.
She is quite playful LOVES to play with other dogs - she's very social.

Bonnie likes to be near someone. She will most often curl up next to you or with another dog in the house.

She is crate trained and she settles nicely and is quiet. She knows sit, to wait to be released to go eat, and is working on the other basic commands. She is pretty quiet, she has not barked (maybe once) in her current foster home. She walks fairly well on leash with her foster siblings.
`
Whoever gets this wonderful girl will be one lucky family!

Bonnie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative), and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

To apply to adopt Bonnie, please complete the adoption application form. For more information on Bonnie or any of our other dogs available for adoption, please contact catahoulaontario@gmail.com

Meet Bear!

Bear
Bear is a 65lb German Shepherd mix, approximately 4-5 years old. He's a true gentleman with lots of personality and a friendly disposition.

Bear is housetrained, quiet (seldom barks) and has nice manners around the house. He just wants to be a part of the family. He'll nuzzle in for affection, and happily sleep at your feet, or play with a ball. He loves his walks too, and can easily keep up on activities. He barely even pulls on leash.

bear
Bear is not currently living with children, but should do well with respectful, dog-savvy children.. He did well on an initial test with cats, but would need to be further tested for a home with feline friends. He is not currently living with dogs but greets new dogs calmly. We suspect he would prefer that his canine companions be on the more sophisticated side like him (rather than bouncing puppies!).

If you want a happy-go-lucky best friend, but don't feel the need to go through all the joys of training a pup from scratch, you may have found your match with sweet Bear!

Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative), and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Meet Rocket ADOPTED!

Rocket 2

Rocket is an incredibly sweet 2 year old Shepherd/Great Dane mix. He has quickly won over the hearts of his foster family. He was raised with an older child (6-8) and was very loving and gentle with them.

Rocket is very affectionate and playful, he loves to play tug of war and catch, but will also happily play by himself or settle in for snuggles with the family.

He loves to go out on walks and needs his daily exercise. Rocket is a smart, obedient, and cunning boy. He knows basic commands such as sit and will shake paws with you if you ask. He loves treats and human food. While he does counter-surf when left unattended, he does not try to steal food from humans. Rocket would be best in a home where there are rules that are enforced. He is well-behaved, but will test boundaries when given the opportunity.

Rocket 6

Hi foster home is working on crate training Rocket at this time. He is now OK in the crate when they are home, but he is still getting used to being crated when his family leaves the house. He will bark for about an hour before settling in - thus we do not recommend apartment living for him at this time.

Rocket is a very sweet and loyal boy. He wants nothing more than to love and be loved. He will no doubt be an amazing dog if given the chance.

Rocket is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative), and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Meet Poe ADOPTED!

* Poe is an 8-week old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix. He is currently adoptable to Ottawa area homes only because he will require his last round of vaccines and his neuter surgery at our vet (at our cost) when he is old enough. He has been microchipped *

Poe 2

Well hello there, I'm little Poe. I was abandoned when I was just six weeks old, but a nice lady saved me and she found me a foster home with two dog brothers and one dog sister. I might be the smallest of the bunch, but I'm definitely the cutest. Just look at me!

Poe 5

Just because I'm small doesn't mean that I can't learn stuff. I know that my name is Poe (or sometimes Poe-Poe or Pooh-Pooh), and I can sit down when you give me a treat and I'll come when you call me. I still don't quite get what's wrong with peeing on the floor though. I mean, when you gotta go, you gotta go, no matter where you are! But it's funny to see how excited my peeps get when I do my thing on a pee pad or outside, so sometimes I'll go in one of those places. You just really never know where I'm going to poop next... I like to keep my peeps on their toes. Bwahahahah!

I like to play tug-of-war with my ropies, and it's fun to chase the ball. I like playing in the snow too. And I REALLY like to chew stuff! I still don't know what's good and what's bad to chew, so it's important to keep a close eye on me for now to make sure I don't chew something that could hurt my tummy if I swallow it. Here's something else I like doing - when my peeps are walking, I'll sneak up behind them and try to eat the bottoms of their pants. I have no idea why they don't think this is a good idea, I think it's a great thing to do!

Poe 1

I'm a pretty loving boy, but I have an independent streak too. I like being held and snuggled for a little while, but I'll let you know when I want to get down – there are lots of things to do and see! And don't be offended if I don't want to lie on your lap when you're watching TV. I do like to be close to you, but I prefer to lie on the floor by your feet. Although my very favourite place to lie down for a snooze is on your pillow right on top of your head. The back of the sofa is a good spot too.

I haven't had a chance to meet many humans yet, but I really like the ones that I live with. They're nice to me and feed me and play with me and I have a comfy dog bed to hang out on and they give me toys and treats and pats and kisses... what's not to love! Will you do all those things for me too? 'Cause if you will, I want to meet you and maybe you could be my very own special human.

Love,

Poe

Poe's adoption fee will include three rounds of vaccinations, neuter at our cost when he is old enough and microchipping and is $500.
