Meet Molly ADOPTED!

Meet Miss Molly!  Molly is a yellow lab mix (possibly mixed with Collie), approximately 4-5 years old.  She is very sweet and gentle and has so much love to give.  Her coat is so soft, you'll want to pet her all day!

Molly is fully house trained and her foster family lets her have the run of the house while they’re at work with no problems.  She’s not a destructive chewer at all, not even her toys.  She loves her balls and loves to play catch, but she knows that outside is for playing and inside is for being calm and relaxed.  Brilliant!

Molly knows basic commands, such as "sit", "down" and "paw", and would love to have a family that continues to train her and set boundaries.

She would also love to have a home where she can get lots of affection and ideally a fenced yard.  She loves being outside, and she just loves chasing squirrels and rabbits (hence the fenced yard!).  She is learning to walk well on leash with her halter, but she does still need a strong arm and continued leash training.

Molly is affectionate and cuddly, a bit stubborn at times, but overall an amazing dog and friend.  She would have no trouble being an only pet, and we expect she could also live other respectful, calmer dogs.  She is not tested with cats.

Molly is not currently living with children but should be able to live with respectful kids.  Molly has no sensitivities with being handled, and does not display any resource guarding behaviour.  She is excited to meet ALL people, but once she says Hello, she is quick to settle and sits or lays down to just "hang out".

Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative), and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Meet Ted E Bear ADOPTED!

Ted E Bear is a stunning, approximately 1-2 year old pup. Our best guess on breeds would be aussie-mastiff mix (or something along those lines).

Ted is a very well behaved boy with good manners. He is very playful and loves to fetch and to play with his foster siblings and is great with other dogs (though may be a bit much for a toy breed). He's already leaned his name and his recall is coming along nicely. He hasn't been a big chewer in the house (good boy!)

Ted is still crying when his family leaves him in the house, thus may not be a good candidate for apartments or condos.

Ted is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

Meet Zeus ADOPTED!

Zeus is a sweet, sensitive boy with quite the ‘tail’ to tell. We have nicknamed him ‘Trooper’ because, even after all this poor boy has been through, he is the most loving, sweetest boy. Found as a stray, it didn’t take long to realize this shy guy needed a gentle hand and lots of love.

Zeus is an approx. 1.5 year old Mountain Cur mix (possibly some Anatolian Shepherd in there). He has the colouring of a Cur but the personality of an Anatolian. He is highly intelligent, learns quickly, is very loyal, and alert. Zeus is very watchful, however he is also very sweet, friendly, and happily greets newcomers to our home. He really is the sweetest, most gentle boy you'll ever meet. He is calm (almost lazy) in the house and fabulous on walks – minimal pulling, will walk right beside you, and nicely greets other dogs he meets. It is quite amusing watching him chase shadows and the light reflecting off his dog tags. He is like a cat with a laser pointer!

He was at risk of being euthanized until Catahoula Rescue Ontario saved him. He has crate anxiety so must be in an environment where it is safe for him to be left to roam the house. Zeus was about 76lbs when he came to us, but is still a bit thin. He should be between 80-85lbs.

Zeus is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and will be microchipped before going to his new home.

To apply to adopt Zeus, please complete the adoption application form. For more information on Zeus or any of our other dogs available for adoption, please contact catahoulaontario@gmail.com

Meet Tulla ADOPTED!

Tulla is 2-3 month old Catahoula/American Bulldog mix. She’s very affectionate, a real cuddler – likes to be near you but also is curious and enjoys exploring the yard or the neighbourhood when out walking.

She’s completely housebroken, and follows a pretty regular routine of going out after her meals, as well as being out in the yard most of the day. She sleeps in her crate and goes from 11PM until 7AM without a problem. She also gets fed in her crate, and now when she sees the bowl she will dance around (we’re working on getting her to sit) while it’s being filled, then run to her crate and wait for her meal.

She is a very energetic pup – needs lots of exercise, which she gets by playing with Cajun (our other Catahoula cross) and walks. She’ll play tug-of-war with her human, as well as with her doggy friend, and will fetch a stick, ball, or toy! She loves water – will play in her kiddie pool and chases the water from the hose. She’s pretty fearless – the vacuum and the lawnmower, even though loud, hold no fear for her, and she has to be reminded that the broom and the mop are not toys!

She gets on well with our cat, and mainly leaves him alone, not chasing or trying to play with him. She’s been to the stables and is not afraid of the horses, nor the potbellied pig, and had a great time - running around a course of jumps with Emily on foot, she jumped them rather than going under! I could easily see her doing agility with the proper training.

Obedience training will be very good for her, she needs to know the rules, but once she does she’s happy to follow them. As of now, she will sit very nicely, knows “down” to lie down and “off” to leave things alone, whether it be something in her mouth that shouldn’t be (put your shoes in the closet!) or jumping up. We’re working on “Stay”, and her recalls are good, although sometimes if she is actively playing with the other pup it will take a couple of calls to get her to break it off.

She’s teething right now and loves ice cubes to chew on, as well as deer antlers and bones. She will give up a bone to a human.

She’s a very smart, energetic, loving girl, likes to please when she knows what’s wanted from her, and is a real joy to have around.

She weighs 22 lbs, and is spayed and up-to date on her vaccinations
