Meet Cali ADOPTED!

cali 2
Hi my name is Cali - the all sunshine girl. I am a lovely young lady around one, but ladies never disclose their exact age. I am up to date on shots and have been spayed – but before that happened, I had a litter of puppies. Not sure where my babies were taken once I was dumped in the shelter. Oh how my heart hurts to think about that. Perhaps that is why I have such a special disposition for little humans. I think they are really special. Mom makes it a habit to take me to the park with my foster sisters (one canine one little human). The children love to come over and pet me. I graciously accept and appreciate the delight they bring to me. I even heard a little boy whisper that he thought I had stepped right out from the movie 101 Dalmations – tee hee!

I am working on commands and so far I understand ‘sit’. Oh how I love to sit pretty and soak up the praise. Mom and I are trying to work on leash training, but I prefer to eat the leashes rather then have them hold me back. I am young and beautiful and I want to see the world! When mom does let me off leash I am quite responsive to her recall. On one of our lovely adventures, I found a lovely Doberman suitor named Da’Vinci. Boy, do I have him wrapped around my little paw. I am quite the social girl. I make friends wherever I go. Mom praises me for my wonderful communication and loves my play style. We are pretty certain I am Catahoula/Dane, but sometimes I play with my paws like a Boxer – maybe in my last life I was one.

I am a huge CUDDLE BUG! I love to be close, especially at night. I make sure to press my body into mom. I want to make sure that if she needs me for any reason at all, I am right there by her side. It is nice to feel needed.

Many people swoon over my attractive appearance. People always stop to pet me on the street. On occasion people have slowed down in their car right beside us on walks to get a better look at me and to pass compliments. It is quite flattering, but truthfully for me looks are not important. I am a simple girl that wants nothing more than to be loved. If you think that you would like to open your heart and home to me, then fill out an application and maybe we could meet. Stay on the sunny side.

Paw-sitive energy and lots of sloppy kisses,

Your sunshine gal,
Cali xox

Meet Josie ADOPTED!

I’m a sweet and spunky firecracker named Josie. They think I am a Catahoula Beagle mix - I weigh about 20 lbs and am just about full grown (I am around 1 year old).

I just love everyone - people, dogs, and cats included. I just love to give kisses and get pats. I live with a mini schnauzer foster brother and Catahoula foster sister. My foster sister is just my greatest friend!  We play play play all day long. I am very curious and just love to play all the time, so my foster mom has puppy proofed her house to keep me safe so I don’t play with the wrong things.

My foster mom tells me I am good on leash, but that sometimes I need to keep walking and keep up with the other dogs. Sometimes I just don’t feel like walking anymore, so I lay down and she has to ask me to keep moving. I am also pretty good off leash because I don’t like to get too far ahead and I often look back and check that she is still there.

I am recently spayed and getting the hang of crate training. I am up to date on all my shots. I will also be microchipped before I go to my forever home.

Meet Marshall ADOPTED!

Marshall close pm

Hey there, my name is Marshall – or Gizmo, for short. Yeah, I know, it makes no sense to me either. But my foster mom thinks I look like a Gizmo, so Gizmo it is. I kinda like the name, actually – although my official name has special meaning to some of the nice ladies I met on my way from the shelter to my foster home. I guess I'm an extra-special boy because I have two names.

marshall sitting tongue pmSo here's a little bit about me – I'm around ten months old, so I'm still puppy-ish in a lot of ways. Sometimes I sit funny, and I've fallen off the sofa a few times. Don't worry, I was OK, just embarrassed. I miss my brother Benton, but I have a nice Catahoula brother and Lab sister in my foster home, and we get along great. I've also met some nice dogs at the dog park. I'm a little but shy when I meet new dogs and in new situations, but it doesn't take me long to feel more comfortable and confident. But not too confident – I'm OK with not being top dog.

When I first got here, I didn't know how to walk properly on a leash or how to sit, and I had a couple of accidents in the house. Oops! But I'm proud to say that I've been accident-free since then. Woot! And I'm also learning to walk better on my leash. I pull a bit sometimes, but mostly I'm good. I've just about got this “Sit” thing figured out – it's easy to do now that I know what it is. I'm also pretty good when I hear “Gizmo, come” at home. But at the dog park, it's a whole different story! I just can't help myself – I'm so happy and excited to run loose that I forget my manners and run off and my “talk to the paw” attitude kicks into gear.

I think I'd like to take a shot at doing agility - I love to run and I can jump high. You should see me doing zoomies in the backyard!

I can be a little on the timid side, and I'll give you a really sad “OMG, I feel so guilty” face when you tell me “bad dog” after I've done something wrong. I don't like being a bad dog, I want to be a good dog! So you usually only have to tell me once, and then I won't do the wrong thing again.

I'm all up to date on my vaccinations and I'm neutered. Not so happy about that, but hey, it is what it is. And I'll be microchipped before I go to my forever home so I'll hopefully never get lost again.

OK, gotta go, time to do some zoomies!

Meet Outback ADOPTED!

Romeo - Sitting SideHi, my name is Outback.  My foster mom calls me Romeo because I'm a real love bug. I'm a Catahoula/Australian Shepherd mix.  I might even have some hound in me because I have these freckles on my nose and front legs that my foster mom thinks are adorable.
I'm a young boy - 1.5 to 2 years old they tell me.  I'm neutered and up to date with shots.  I weigh in at around 50-60 lbs and should be full grown at this point.
I'm a medium to low energy dog.  One good walk a day is all I really need to keep me in tip top shape.  I do like to lounge around outside and a fenced in yard would be ideal to do this in.  I am currently living with a beagle, a puggle and 5 cats.  We are all getting along very well.  My foster mom says that I do not have an aggressive bone in my body.
I am very quiet and respectful in the house and I am housebroken, no messes at all.  I walk very well on leash, just a bit of pulling that we are working on but nothing I cannot overcome.  I am also learning to like my crate but it is going to take some practice. I need a single family home as I can do some lonesome singing when my family leaves me and some patience to help me understand that it's ok for me to be alone when you must leave the house.
I'm pretty sure I'd be fine being an only dog; I'd get all the attention that way.  It would be okay too for me to live with another dog more my size so that we could play together.  My doggy foster sisters think I'm too big for them and won't play with me right now.
Romeo - Standing
I have not been kid tested but my foster mom thinks that I would be okay with older children because, I like to jump up and give these awesome hugs.  I would never mean to harm a smaller child but I'm just a little bit big and might knock them over trying to love them.
My foster mom is taking me to an obedience class where I am learning all the basic commands so that I can be the best dog I can be for my new furever home.
